The Pastry Commis will play a crucial role in assisting the pastry chefs in the daily production of our delectable desserts, pastries, and breads. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in pastry to gain hands-on experience and develop their culinary skills in a professional setting. Responsibilities:
Assist the pastry chefs in preparing ingredients, measuring, mixing, and following recipes with precision.
Assist in the production of various pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked goods, ensuring consistency and quality.
Assist in plating and decorating desserts, ensuring they meet our high standards for presentation and aesthetics.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning work surfaces, and organizing equipment.
Assist in managing inventory levels for pastry ingredients, ensuring proper rotation and minimizing waste.
Actively learn from the pastry chefs, developing your skills and knowledge in pastry techniques and culinary arts.
Qualifications:
Will be ready and available to start by August - September 2024
Can speak English well, and Arabic (preferred)
Prior experience in a pastry kitchen or bakery is preferred.
Basic understanding of pastry techniques and ingredients. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and willingness to learn. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderate weights, and work with hot ovens and kitchen equipment.
