Your Job Koch Engineered Solutions / John Zink is seeking a Middle East Combustion Engineering Manager to lead and grow in our Combustion business for our regional clients in the Middle East. We specialize in innovative technical and service solutions that for industrial value chains. The KES Combustion business (John Zink) provides uniquely engineered solutions for Process Heating, Power Burners, Flare Systems, Thermal Oxidizer Systems, Flare Gas Recovery Systems, Vapor Recovery Systems, and Vapor Combustion Systems The role will report to the Director of Combustion Engineering & Technology. Koch Principle Based Management: Apply Koch's Principle Based Management Values in all activities and act as a Culture Role Model for the regional/local company culture.
Manage Regional Demand: Oversee regional demand for engineering capabilities and ensure alignment with supply provided by our global engineering team (India, Europe, Asia Pacific, USA).
Collaboration: Work closely with Commercial/Service teams and customers to leverage our engineering capabilities, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships and projects.
Capability Development: Develop regional combustion engineering capabilities that meet company goals.
Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for combustion systems or burner design-related queries and coordinate with internal stakeholders to develop best-in-class capabilities.
Training Programs: Contribute to and collaborate on the development of training programs (site and classroom) and participate in regional events such as MEPEC, IKTVA, ADIPEC, etc.
Customer Relations: Build a culture of trust with customers and internal departments by cultivating relationships through effective interactions and timely responses.
Technical Relationships: Develop and maintain technical relationships with the technical departments of key accounts/sites in the region (e.g., Aramco, Sabic) and connect them to our engineering initiatives and opportunities.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a multidisciplinary, multinational engineering team.
Engineering Background: Chemical or Mechanical Engineering background with experience in the refining/petrochemical industry.
Industry Standards: Familiarity and experience with industry standards related to combustion equipment (e.g., API, ISO, NFPA) and their application.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective verbal, written, and presentation communication across a wide range of internal and external customers - including Management, Commercial, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project & Site Management.
Design/Engineering Experience: Significant engineering experience in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry.
Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
What Will Put You Ahead
Combustion Product Knowledge: Design experience with combustion equipment - including flare systems, thermal oxidizers, or burners (process, boiler, incinerator).
Local Experience: Proven experience working with Aramco, Sabic, ADNOC, and other regional companies.
Adaptability: Ability to work in unusual working conditions.
Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the Middle East and occasionally on a worldwide basis.
