Java Software Developer (Jr/Intern) - (Bachelor’s Degree)
We have an opportunity for a passionate and detail-oriented Java Software Developer (Jr/Intern) to join our Smart Energy - Connected Utility - Application Engineering team in Honeywell in Bucharest. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced developers, gaining hands-on experience in designing, coding, and testing software solutions. You will contribute to real-world projects, enhancing your skills in Java development, and learning about software development best practices in a collaborative and diverse work environment.
This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, testing, and debugging of Java-based applications.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the design and architecture of software projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement features.
• Document code and assist in maintaining project documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under the guidance of senior developers.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and core Java concepts.
• General understanding of software development life cycle.
• General knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Basic knowledge of support tools: git, maven, Jira.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Spring-Boot, REST API and microservice frameworks.
• General knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and associated architecture.
• Knowledge with cloud platforms, i.e. Azure.
• Command-line experience in Linux
