Our client is looking for a passionate engineer with experience in Python, Java, Ansible, Postgre SQL, Cent OS, and Alma Linux, to help us optimize and automate our infrastructure and deployment processes.
We are currently involved in several types of systems migrations, including on-premises to AWS/cloud-native and on-premises to alternate on-premises data center conversions. You will be planning and implementing our migration process as a Site Ops Engineer, testing it, and then performing it out with a "no surprises in production" mentality.

Job requirements
- Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or similar role, focusing on building and maintaining scalable infrastructures;
- Experience building infrastructure in the cloud using configuration as code tools such as terraform and CDK;
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks;
- Expertise in configuration management such as Ansible or Puppet;
- Solid understanding of Postgre SQL and experience in managing Postgre SQL databases;
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git Lab CI, and Git Hub Actions;
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment;
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience);
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is a plus;

Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Automation: Design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, CDK, and Ansible to ensure consistency and scalability;
- Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring and logging systems to proactively detect and address potential issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in environments like on-prem Prometheus/Thanos, Grafana Cloud, and Grafana Cloud Loki;
- Database Management: Manage hundreds of on-prem Postgre SQL databases, including performance tuning, backups, and disaster recovery strategies;
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to improve the overall development and deployment processes.;

Troubleshooting and Incident Management: Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues.
