As part of ECS Delivery Technical Operations the Database Services Team is responsible for all databases. Beside project delivery and day to day administration we are part of strategic pilot projects for new technologies as reference for other customers. Teams provides stable operational support for customer Database landscapes for their critical business systems.
For the Delivery Center in Bucharest, Romania, we are looking for an IT Database Performance Expert with a strong technical background for supporting critical projects & administration in the Enterprise Cloud Services Delivery environment. Beside administration we are part of pilot projects for new technologies as reference for SAP customers.
THE ROLE: You will be responsible for key database deliverables and to drive escalations and act as technical specialist in the area of performance and troubleshooting of SAP HANA/ASE. Your role will be SAP HANA/ASE performance senior specialist. You will be SPOC for strategic customer contact from technical standpoint for SAP HANA. You would need to collaborate closely with our problem management team, incident management team, war-room, technical architecture team, service engineering and discuss about potential performance issues with SAP HANA Development colleagues and de-escalate the situation.
You will have the opportunity to get exposure on the largest S/4HANA databases and largest scale-out systems available among customers, systems on different hyperscalers like Azure, AWS, GCP starting from 64GB to 22TB and in addition you will be working with SAP HANA/ASE Development to gain further technical insight on new features/ bugs.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Over 7-8 years of work experience as Database Administrator in Global Operations team (primarily on SAP HANA and ASE Database Platforms, however any database technology is welcome)
Exposure to the automation tools /scripting or processes
DB installations and upgrade, Planning, setup and implementation.
Providing technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning of Systems. Performance Optimization.
DB Concept on Security, Backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, System Copies, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, replication is must.
Organize / Structure day2day documentation
Willingness to take on-call duty/Weekend tasks during EMEA time zone only. The on-call duty is based on rotation, approximately every 2-3 months.
Cloud knowledge (e.g. experience of working in Public Cloud Domains like Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP) is desirable but not essential. Good to have Professional Certification of Database Platforms with exposure to Project Management tasks including PMP and ITIL certification.
