Primary purpose of job
Senior Data Governance is responsible for developing and implementing data governance for the digital use cases and
data platform operations to enable the business to maintain accurate, consistent, secured, available, and high-quality data
for the digital use cases to support decision-making. Collaborate with legal & information protection teams to align with data
regulatory requirements, confidentiality and privacy regulations.
Work closely with data stewards to establish and enforce data quality standards. Maintain a data catalog, documenting data
lineage, metadata, and data sources. Implement data profiling and data quality assessment processes.
Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance data literacy across the organization.
Experience & Skills
1. +8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role within the oil and gas industry.
2. Data Governance: Proficiency in establishing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and guidelines.
3. Data Quality: Understanding of data quality assessment techniques and strategies.
4. Metadata Management: Knowledge of maintaining data catalogs, lineage, and metadata.
5. Master Data Management (MDM): Experience with managing master data across the organization.
6. Full understanding of Data Management solutions (e.g. Data Lake/warehouse, Data Platform, Data Ingestion, MDM,
ETL, BI/Data Visualization ..etc)
7. Data Profiling: Ability to analyze data to identify patterns, anomalies, and quality issues.
8. Data Security and Compliance: Awareness of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements specific to the oil
and gas sector.
9. Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills to explain complex ideas to stakeholders.
10. Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, both within the organization and
with external vendors.
Leadership: Strategic leadership skills to drive organizational change and set long-term data governance visions.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, or a related field.
Certified as a Data Management Professional (CDMP) is a plus.
