Job Summary: The Mason is responsible for performing a wide range of masonry tasks, including the repair, maintenance, and construction of structures such as walls, floors, and other building components. This role is essential to maintaining the infrastructure of the facility and ensuring all masonry work adheres to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
Masonry Work:
Construct, repair, and maintain brick, block, and stone walls, floors, and other structures.
Lay out work from blueprints, drawings, and other specifications.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or smoothing as required before starting masonry work.
Mix mortar or cement and ensure proper bonding of materials.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform regular inspections and repairs of existing masonry structures within the facility.
Fix cracks, breaks, or other damage to walls, walkways, or other surfaces.
Assist in the maintenance of facility grounds, including walkways, curbs, and external structures.
Safety & Quality Control:
Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure work complies with building codes, regulations, and company quality standards.
Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after projects.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other facility management team members, including electricians, plumbers, and technicians, to ensure timely project completion.
Assist in planning and coordinating masonry projects, ensuring that all required materials and tools are available.
General Duties:
Adhere to all facility management policies and procedures.
Assist in other facility maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a mason in construction or facility management.
Technical Skills: Proficient in masonry tools and equipment, mixing mortar, and reading blueprints.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, standing, and working in different weather conditions.
Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety standards and the ability to follow proper procedures.
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Hours: 12-hour shifts, 6 days a week (depending on company requirements).
Language: Basic proficiency in English is preferred.
