Job Overview: The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping team and ensuring that all areas of the facility are clean, well-maintained, and meet health and safety standards. The supervisor will manage daily operations, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure that cleaning schedules are followed, creating a comfortable and hygienic environment for all occupants. Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Team Management:
Lead, train, and supervise a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring that duties are performed to the highest standard.
Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure all areas of the facility are cleaned and maintained according to schedule.
Inspect assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met, addressing any issues or complaints from facility occupants.
Provide ongoing training and support to staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Scheduling & Task Allocation:
Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for the housekeeping team.
Adjust work assignments based on operational needs, staff availability, or specific facility events or requirements.
Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed within the assigned time frames.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all housekeeping operations comply with health and safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Identify and report any potential safety hazards or maintenance issues within the facility.
Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and any incidents or accidents.
Stock & Equipment Management:
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, materials, and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are maintained.
Submit purchase requests for cleaning supplies and equipment when needed.
Ensure that all cleaning equipment is in good working condition and properly maintained.
Quality Assurance & Customer Service:
Perform regular inspections of cleaning work to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Address and resolve any complaints or concerns from facility management or occupants regarding cleanliness or housekeeping services.
Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and productivity among housekeeping staff.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare reports on housekeeping activities, including completed tasks, staff performance, and any issues encountered.
Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, work hours, and any disciplinary actions or commendations.
Work closely with the facility manager to discuss operational improvements, staffing needs, and any other housekeeping-related matters.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a housekeeping supervisor or in a similar role, preferably in facility management, hospitality, or large commercial settings.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment, including health and safety regulations.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Good communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-oriented attitude.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional training or certification in housekeeping, hospitality management, or related fields is preferred.
Work Hours:
Full-time, 12-hour shifts (with 1-hour break), 6 days a week. Must be available for on-call duties in case of emergencies.
