Job Overview: The Carpenter is responsible for performing general carpentry duties including the installation, maintenance, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures across the facility. The role involves working in coordination with other maintenance staff to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of the facility. Key Responsibilities:
Woodwork Installation & Repair:
Construct, install, and repair furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, shelves, partitions, and other wooden fixtures.
Install and repair drywall, ceilings, and flooring as needed.
Inspect wooden structures and suggest repairs or replacements.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform regular inspections of wooden structures to ensure safety and durability.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies related to carpentry work.
Identify and resolve issues related to wooden components, fixtures, and general building materials.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow safety guidelines and regulations to ensure safe working conditions.
Use proper tools and equipment to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace after completing tasks.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with other technicians (electricians, plumbers, HVAC) to coordinate work efforts.
Provide support in various facility maintenance projects and renovations.
Collaborate with supervisors and report work progress regularly.
Tools & Equipment:
Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery proficiently.
Ensure tools are properly maintained and stored.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in a facility management or construction environment.
Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
Knowledge of carpentry materials and techniques, including wood types and treatments.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals.
Good physical condition and stamina, capable of working in various environments.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Basic knowledge of safety procedures and building regulations.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational training or certification in carpentry (preferred).
Work Hours:
Full-time, 12-hour shifts (with breaks), 6 days a week. Some positions may require on-call availability for emergencies.
