Job Summary: This position is an entry-level in the kitchen, responsible for assisting in the preparation of ingredients and basic cooking tasks. The role is aimed at those eager to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, learning new skills while contributing to daily food production. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats as directed by the senior chefs.
Follow recipes and instructions for cooking various dishes under supervision.
Ensure that all food is prepared to the required standard and in a timely manner.
Support the Chef de Partie in cooking and preparing menu items as required.
Assist with the plating of dishes, ensuring presentation is in line with restaurant standards.
Prepare basic dishes under supervision, such as soups, salads, and simple mains.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including the washing of utensils and equipment.
Follow food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene at all times.
Ensure that all food items are stored properly, and the kitchen area is clean and organized.
Assist with the receiving and storing of deliveries, ensuring that all products are stored correctly and in line with food safety regulations.
Report any shortages or inconsistencies in inventory to senior chefs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma or certificate in culinary arts or relevant field (preferred but not mandatory).
Previous experience in a kitchen is advantageous but not required.
Basic knife skills, ability to follow recipes and instructions, keen attention to detail.
Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a team-oriented mindset.
