Position Overview:
The Business Development and Tendering Officer is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while managing the end-to-end tendering process. This role combines strategic business development with the meticulous preparation and submission of tenders, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the local market in Qatar, excellent networking skills, and a proven track record in business acquisition and tender management.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify potential business opportunities and develop strategies to secure them in line with company objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new markets, customer needs, and competitive activities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to promote the company's services.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and negotiations with prospective clients.
- Work closely with the management team to develop and implement strategic business development plans.
Tendering:
- Lead the preparation, compilation, and submission of tender documents in line with client requirements and company policies.
- Analyze tender specifications, requirements, and submission guidelines to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, legal, and finance departments, to gather necessary inputs for tender submissions.
- Review and evaluate tender bids and proposals, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Track and report on tendering activities, including win/loss ratios and reasons, to refine future tender strategies.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Conduct SWOT analysis to assess the company's position in the market and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular market and industry reports to the management team to inform decision-making.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide support throughout the tendering process to ensure client satisfaction.
- Conduct post-tender feedback sessions with clients to understand their needs and improve future submissions.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all business development and tendering activities, including client interactions, proposals, and contracts.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, tender outcomes, and market trends for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Min. 5 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in business development and tendering, preferably in waste management.
- Strong understanding of the Qatari market, including regulatory requirements and industry trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in project management and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of local procurement processes and tendering regulations in Qatar.
- Strong network within the industry and ability to leverage contacts for business growth.
