Business Analyst – Tax
Business Analyst – Tax will be part of a team of Analysts working in the Tax Team. The key objectives of the role are to ensure Astra Zeneca complies with all VAT & Customs legislation and minimizes where legally possible its VAT and duty payments. To provide support on VAT and/or Customs matters to all relevant areas of the Business. In relation to the above maintain appropriate controls and systems to satisfy legal and compliance requirements. To support other members of the team, where appropriate, to ensure that objectives of Group Taxation are achieved.

- Assist in the preparation, review and submission of European and UK VAT returns.
- Assist in the preparation, review and submission of the monthly Intrastat and Sales Listing.
- Assist in month-end activities around the VAT accounting including the VAT account reconciliations.
- Support Group Tax with information for ad hoc requests.
- Work collaboratively with the outsource provider and other Finance stakeholders to support compliance with local tax requirements.
- Assist in the management of import clearances, including support in managing duty saving structures.
- Have a good knowledge of the Customs Tariff and classification procedures for imported and exported materials.
Essential
- Qualified finance professional or equivalent, with 2+ years of experience in taxes.
- English Language proficiency, both verbal and written, with the confidence to express clear opinions and ability to explain financial issues to non-financial management.
- Strong MS Office knowledge.
- Ability to manage and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organized manner.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams.
- A passion for customers, self-motivation and commitment to teamwork.
Preferred
- SAP experience.
- Experience working with the international movement of goods and VAT.
- Experience of working in pharma industry.
