The purpose of a Dispatcher is to respond to a company’s emergency or non-emergency calls for help and information. Their duties include monitoring routes, updating call logs, and recording call information. Job Requirements:
College Graduate, preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
Preferably with experience as a dispatcher. Minimum experience of three (3) years in Logistics – Hauling / Shipping operations or its Allied Services.
Preferably has knowledge in oil and petroleum industry.
With experience in Systems Analysis, and Logistics Operation.
Responsibilities:
Determines trucks requirements to be assigned to trips provided by Operations Services group to achieve transfer of planned volume.
Prepare and plan for the assignment of each trip to drivers with the aim of balancing their working hours and distance.
Monitor and control compliance to planned trips and target turn around.
Monitor the whereabouts and JMP compliance of each driver to achieve the desired turn around and efficiency.
Coordinate and check with drivers any unusual delay in processing in source and destination.
Monitors and controls optimum operation and effective performance and utilization of all units assigned within the area – from identified base to point of destination.
Responsible in planning and creating a weekly and daily schedule with Superiors that will meet demand requirements and maximize trip utilization per unit.
Reviews and validates excess / shortage of trucks as against demand requirement to control cost wastage.
Monitors actual status of dispatch and assignment of trips, using various ways of communications, to ensure completion of planned haulage schedule.
