Job description As a Receiving Counter-In-Charge in the courier industry, you will play a pivotal role in managing the inbound flow of parcels, packages, and documents at our facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the efficient handling, processing, and organization of incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Processing:
Receive incoming shipments from various carriers, clients, and customers.
Verify the accuracy of shipment details, including addresses, tracking numbers, and recipient information.
Sort incoming items based on size, destination, and urgency.
Scan, label, and assign tracking numbers to each incoming package for efficient tracking and monitoring.
Inspect packages for any signs of damage or discrepancies, documenting issues as necessary.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain detailed records of all incoming shipments, including tracking numbers, sender information, and delivery instructions.
Update internal databases and tracking systems with real-time information on received items.
Prepare and generate reports on daily, weekly, and monthly receiving activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding record-keeping and data management.
Customer Service:
Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers dropping off packages at the receiving counter.
Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
Assist customers in selecting appropriate shipping methods, packaging options, and additional services.
Educate customers on tracking procedures, delivery times, and shipping regulations.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials, such as boxes, tape, and bubble wrap, and reorder supplies as needed.
Coordinate with the warehouse or inventory team to ensure adequate storage space for incoming shipments.
Conduct periodic inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with electronic records.
Identify and report any discrepancies or irregularities in inventory levels.
Team Coordination:
Supervise and train receiving staff on proper handling procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of incoming shipments.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to maximize team productivity and morale.
