Responsibilities
- Oversees the day to day import operations of the company in compliance with the applicable international and local regulations.
- Provides assistance to Purchasing and Planning in determining the best mode of shipment taking into consideration urgency and availing of the most competent freight-in rate in the market
- Files claim for all marine and cargo insurance for damaged or lost shipments
- Acts as point of contact of the logistics providers in terms of delivery and service issues or enhancement.
- Prepares correspondences whenever the company needs to communicate with the government agencies (e.g. PEZA, BOC, PDEA, DENR, etc.) or the airlines to avoid penalties, denials, or dis-approvals of import entry of controlled goods into Philippines.
- Ensures that all import & export certifications and bonds are renewed in a timely manner to avert delay in the shipment processing and approval from various government agencies.
- Audits billing of service providers if charges are correct and accurate then submits to Finance for payment.
- Works closely with stakeholders to control/eliminate documentation issues and delivery delays due to use of wrong consignee name, incorrrect freight terms and wrong use of forwarder causing increased freight-in expenses for the company.
Qualifications
- Graduate of any 4-year course, preferably Customs Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Analytics
- At least 4-year related experience in Supply Chain processes in data mining, analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of processes and regulations of PEZA and Bureau of Customs is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills
- MS Office skills > Word, Excel, Power Point
- Strong analytical skill to collect, gather, visualize and analyze information in detail.
- Has initiative to solve problem and make decision in the most effective way.
- Self-motivated with good prioritization & organizational skills
