JOB BRIEF:
The Health and Wellness Officer is primarily responsible for disease management, employee treatment, follow-up and referrals, emergency job-related injuries and illnesses, gatekeeper for healthcare services, and rehabilitation, return-to-work issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Independently observe and assess workers' health status with respect to job tasks and hazards
2. Recognize and prevent health effects from hazardous exposures and treat workers' injuries and illnesses
3. Promote an interdisciplinary approach to health care and advocate for the employee's right to prevention-oriented, cost-effective health and safety programs
4. Counsel workers about work-related illnesses and injuries and emotional and/or family problems
5. Case finding and refer clients to employee assistance programs and/or other community resources, and handle and coordinate consultation and follow-up care
6. Develop health education and effective use of medical services
7. Make and furnish reports whether for corporate or legal purposes and as per requirement of the Department of Labor and Employment
8. Develop innovative and business-compatible health and safety programs, in response to each organization's unique type of work, workforce, and work/community environments
9. Promote natural approach for illness/injury treatment and/or management
10. Keep medical records with utmost confidentiality
11. Perform site visits if necessary
12. Perform first-aid to injured/ill employees
13. Other tasks as may be assigned by supervisor
Medical Records
-Safekeeping of all Medical Records
-Maintains confidentiality of all records
-Identify and create applicable forms to be utilized for medical purposes
-Update medical records
-Create a report about the health status of the population
Disease Management/Prevention
-Assess the health status of the employees
-Perform First-Aid
-Release medical articles about health and wellness which is timely and relevant
-Conducts daily health monitoring of employees (e.g. Vital Signs, Weight Monitoring)
-Educate the employees about their health status
-Promote health and wellness activities for the employees
-Case study for work-related injuries/illnesses
-Facilitate morning exercises
-Plant visit

-Assists HR with organizing company events
