1. BIR Tax Compliance
Preparation and Filing of Tax Returns:
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, including VAT (Value-Added Tax), Income Tax, Percentage Tax, and Withholding Taxes.
Use the BIR’s online platforms (e.g., e BIRForms, e FPS) for filing.
Tax Payment Processing:
Ensure timely payment of taxes, either through the BIR's electronic payment systems or accredited banks.
Reconciliation of Tax Liabilities:
Reconcile the company’s tax liabilities with BIR records to avoid discrepancies.
Monitoring of BIR Deadlines:
Stay updated on deadlines for filing returns and making payments to avoid penalties and surcharges.
2. Permit Processing
Registration with BIR:
Ensure proper registration of the business with the BIR, including securing the Certificate of Registration (COR, Form 2303).
Facilitate the application for BIR documents like the Authority to Print (ATP) for official receipts and invoices.
Business Permit Processing:
Liaise with the local government units (LGUs) to obtain or renew business permits, barangay clearance, and mayor's permits.
Other Regulatory Compliance:
Secure permits and licenses from other regulatory bodies, such as SEC (for corporations) or DTI (for sole proprietorships).
Facilitate the submission of the annual audited financial statements (AFS) to the BIR and SEC.
3. Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping
Maintain Accurate Accounting Records:
Ensure all tax-related transactions are recorded properly in the company's accounting system.
Maintain BIR-required Books of Accounts:
Manage the company’s books of accounts (e.g., General Ledger, General Journal, Cash Receipts Book, etc.) and ensure they are properly registered with the BIR.
Facilitate Audits:
Assist in tax audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to BIR inquiries.
4. Tax Planning and Advising
Tax Strategy Development:
Work with management to develop tax strategies that minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.
Advisory on Tax Incentives:
Advise on the availability of tax incentives and exemptions that the company can apply for.
5. BIR Audit and Compliance Management
Respond to BIR Letters/Notices:
Address any notices or letters from the BIR, including Letter of Authority (LOA) for tax audits, and provide the necessary documentation.
Coordinate with External Auditors:
Assist external auditors in the conduct of their audits and coordinate with the BIR for tax assessments or refunds.
6. Employee-Related Tax Matters
Handling Withholding Tax on Compensation:
Ensure that employees' compensation taxes are computed correctly and are remitted to the BIR.
Processing of BIR Forms for Employees:
Prepare BIR Form 2316 (Annual Income Tax Return) for employees and facilitate any other employee-related tax compliance matters.
Other related tasks will be given by the immediate head.
