GFS Group of companies required - Network Support Officer
Location: Karachi- Head Office based
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Network Support Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role involves performing regular maintenance, assisting with the installation of new equipment, and providing technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network performance to ensure optimal operation and reliability.
-Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and software errors.
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as updating firmware, configuring network devices, and addressing security vulnerabilities.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of new network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Provide technical support to users by resolving issues related to network connectivity, access permissions, and system performance.
- Document network issues and solutions, maintain an inventory of network equipment, and ensure accurate records of network changes.
- Collaborate with IT staff to plan, implement, and test new network solutions or upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to network security standards and policies, implementing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems as necessary.
- Support disaster recovery efforts by ensuring network backup and redundancy systems are effectively in place.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in network support and maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex network issues.
- Proficiency in configuring and maintaining network hardware and software.
- Knowledge of network security practices and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide effective technical support.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documenting network changes and issues.
