Yoruba Tutor
1. Position Title:
Pay: ₦80,000.00 - ₦120,000.00 per month
- Yoruba Tutor (Full-Time)
- Olude B/stop, Ipaja
- Bachelor’s degree in Yoruba, Linguistics, Education, or related field.
- A teaching qualification such as NCE, PGDE, or relevant certification in education is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching Yoruba language at primary or secondary school level.
- Experience in creating engaging lesson plans and classroom activities focused on Yoruba language and culture.
- Experience in working with students of different proficiency levels in Yoruba.
- Proven track record in achieving academic progress and maintaining student interest in language studies.
- Excellent command of spoken and written Yoruba.
- Strong knowledge of Yoruba culture, literature, and history.
- Ability to teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Yoruba.
- Classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in a full-time setting.
- Proficiency in using modern teaching aids and technology for interactive language learning.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to design and evaluate tests and assignments that assess student language proficiency.
- Passion for teaching and promoting Yoruba language and culture.
- Patient, adaptable, and capable of handling diverse student groups.
- Creative in designing teaching methods that cater to different learning styles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A team player who can collaborate with other staff members to promote a well-rounded education.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive Yoruba lessons in line with the school's curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress through tests, exams, and other evaluation methods.
- Encourage student participation and foster a love for the Yoruba language and culture.
- Prepare instructional materials, such as textbooks, handouts, and audiovisual aids, to enhance learning.
- Organize and participate in cultural activities or events that promote Yoruba heritage.
- Provide regular feedback to students and parents about academic performance.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades.
- Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development programs.
- Collaborate with other language and cultural teachers to enhance the learning environment.
- Full-time position with regular school hours, Monday to Friday.
- Occasional participation in extracurricular activities, parent-teacher meetings, or cultural events may be required outside of normal hours.
