Job Title: Trade Finance Officer (Must have experience in import & Export Industry) Location: Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria Salary Range: NGN 700,000 - 1,000,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications) Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Finance Officer to manage and oversee our trade finance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for structuring, processing, and monitoring trade finance transactions, including letters of credit, guarantees, and trade loans. This role will require expertise in trade finance products, attention to detail, and an in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Transaction Management:
o Process and manage trade finance products, including letters of credit (LCs), guarantees, bills for collection, and trade loans.
o Handle all trade finance documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with international trade practices.
2. Customer Support:
o Liaise with clients to provide support on trade finance solutions, structuring products to meet their requirements while ensuring adherence to risk policies.
o Advise customers on trade finance products, structuring options, and best practices for mitigating trade risks.
3. Risk and Compliance:
o Monitor and ensure all transactions comply with the bank’s risk management guidelines, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and international trade regulations.
o Work closely with the compliance team to report and address any irregularities or risks identified in trade finance transactions.
4. Document Review and Verification:
o Review and verify trade documents to ensure compliance with international standards and regulations, including UCP 600, ISBP, and URC.
o Handle and resolve discrepancies in trade documentation promptly.
5. Relationship Management:
o Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including banks, clients, and regulatory bodies.
o Support relationship managers in structuring and executing trade finance deals, providing subject matter expertise.
6. Reporting and Analysis:
o Prepare and analyze reports on trade finance activities, including monthly transaction volumes, revenue, and risk exposure.
o Continuously monitor market trends and regulatory changes impacting trade finance operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
· Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in trade finance, preferably in a commercial bank.
· Certification in trade finance (e.g., CDCS, CITF) is highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of international trade finance products, including LCs, documentary collections, guarantees, and bank loans.
· In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and documentation.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in trade finance software and systems.
