The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of raw materials and packaging materials. This role involves inventory management, documentation, and coordination with various departments to maintain a smooth flow of materials in line with production schedules and quality standards.
Oversee the receipt of raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials for quality and compliance with specifications, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
Maintain accurate inventory records, including data entry into the warehouse management system (WMS).
Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently to move and organize materials within the warehouse.
Ensure proper storage conditions for materials to prevent damage and ensure safety.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for all transactions related to inventory, including receipts, issues, and transfers.
Generate and analyze inventory reports to assist management in making informed decisions.
Work closely with warehouse staff to coordinate daily operations and ensure efficient workflow.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing processes.
Monitor and enforce quality control measures for incoming and stored materials.
Report any quality issues to the Warehouse Manager and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Adhere to safety regulations and procedures in the warehouse environment, promoting a culture of safety among team members.
Participate in safety training and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity in warehouse operations.
Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse functions.
Provide assistance and support to internal departments, addressing any material-related inquiries or issues promptly.
Participate in training sessions for new staff and contribute to their onboarding process, ensuring they understand warehouse policies and procedures. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant certifications in warehousing, logistics, or inventory management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management.
Experience in the manufacturing or agribusiness sector is advantageous.
Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management systems, and supply chain processes.
Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehousing and material handling.
Knowledge of quality control standards and practices relevant to warehousing.
Skills:
Proficient in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Excellent attention to detail for accurate inventory management and quality control.
Proficient in computer applications, including warehouse management software (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and external stakeholders.
