Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Abuja and other locations Eligibility: Nigerian Nationals Position Summary: A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that the project is completed within its projected budget. The QS plays a key role in the financial management of a project, from initial estimates to final accounts. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation: - Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects. - Analyze drawings and specifications to calculate costs. Budget Management: - Develop and monitor project budgets. - Track project expenditures and forecast costs. Tendering Process: - Prepare and issue tender documents. - Analyze and evaluate tender submissions. Contract Administration: - Review and negotiate contracts. - Manage contractual claims and variations. Financial Reporting: - Prepare regular financial reports for project stakeholders. - Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments. Site Visits: - Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality. - Liaise with project teams to ensure compliance with budgets. Collaboration: - Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors. - Communicate effectively with clients regarding cost-related matters. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. - Relevant professional certification preferred. - At least 5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveyor (specific experience based on role). - Strong analytical and numerical skills. - Proficient in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience: - Previous experience in quantity surveying or construction management is essential. - Familiarity with relevant construction laws and regulations. Working Conditions: - Office-based with regular site visits. - May require occasional travel to project sites.
