The Field POS Support Officer will be responsible
for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for
Point of Sale (POS) systems deployed across assigned locations. This role
involves on-site support, customer interaction, and collaboration with internal
teams to ensure efficient operation and customer satisfaction.
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
o Provide on-site troubleshooting and repair of POS terminals for clients.
o Diagnose issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity on POS systems.
o Escalate complex issues to the technical support team and ensure follow-through until resolved.
2. Installation & Configuration:
o Install, configure, and test POS terminals at new merchant locations.
o Ensure devices are properly linked with the merchant’s account and meet functional standards.
3. Maintenance & Upgrades:
o Conduct routine maintenance on POS systems to ensure optimal performance.
o Update software and firmware on POS terminals as required.
4. Customer Training & Support:
o Educate merchants and staff on the use and care of POS systems.
o Address customer inquiries and provide guidance on proper use of POS features and troubleshooting minor issues.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
o Record and update support cases, troubleshooting steps, and outcomes in the company’s system.
o Provide regular reports on field activities, including number of installations, repairs, and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably within the payments or technology industry.
Strong knowledge of point of sale systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with merchants and build lasting relationships.
Ability to understand complex business processes and tailor solutions to meet specific client needs.
Negotiation skills and the ability to close deals successfully.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
