We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Executive Assistant and Legal Officer to support the Managing Director and oversee legal matters within the organization.
The ideal candidate will provide administrative assistance, manage day-to-day operations, and handle legal duties to ensure compliance and protect the company’s interests.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support:
Provide high-level administrative support to the Managing Director, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing reports.
Organize and maintain the Managing Director’s calendar, ensuring efficient time management and prioritization of tasks.
Coordinate travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and itineraries for business trips.
Prepare presentations, meeting agendas, and take minutes during executive meetings.
Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Legal Duties:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.
Advise on legal risks and liabilities, providing recommendations to mitigate potential risks.
Ensure the company is compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements, including filings with relevant authorities.
Liaise with external legal counsel on complex legal matters, disputes, or litigation.
Keep up to date with legal developments and ensure that the company is informed about changes in regulations or laws that could affect its operations.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Oversee office operations, including procurement of supplies, managing correspondence, and handling communication with external vendors.
Assist in project management and follow up on deliverables to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Provide support in the preparation and submission of official documents to government bodies or clients as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or related field.
2-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate setting.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate and contract law.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of UK corporate and contract law is a plus
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the tech or engineering sector is a plus.
Familiarity with the tech, maritime and energy sectors in Nigeria.
