The Account Assistant will support the accounting department by performing various clerical and administrative tasks and will assist in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in inputting financial transactions into accounting software, and maintain and update financial records, spreadsheets, and databases.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
Assist with processing invoices, receipts, and payments.
Track and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable and receivable.
Prepare and send out invoices to clients.
Assist in reconciling bank statements with company records.
Identify and correct any discrepancies.
Assist in processing payroll maintaining payroll records and distributing employee paychecks.
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist in organizing and maintaining the office filing system.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
Maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
The Accountant Assistant may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
OND or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Must live in Ibadan and its environs
Previous experience in an accounting or administrative role is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
