This is a great opportunity for an MIT to be trained as a MRI Technologist by our experienced team.
As a Trainee MRI Technologist, you will be able to manage working rostered clinical hours in MRI along with completing the study requirements of the University of Auckland post-graduate MRI program within the allocated timeframe.
This position is a 3 year fixed term trainee role. After successfully passing qualification with the University of Auckland and registration with the MRTB, the trainee will be moved into an MRI/MIT technologist position if one is available.
This position is primarily located in Nelson Hospital where we offer a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service including: General Radiography, CT Scanning, Ultrasound, MRI and Interventional Radiology.

The salary for a Trainee MRI Technologist full-time position is within the range of $73,551 - $79,308 as per the APEX MECA dependent on skills, experience, and relevant qualifications.

You will be registered with the NZMRT Board, and be eligible to hold a current APC in the scope of Trainee MRI Technologist.

To succeed in this role you will have:
  • an interest in and/or experience of MRI Imaging
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Great communication skills and empathy
  • The passion to deliver high-quality healthcare
  • The flexibility to work within a Monday-Sunday rotating roster.
Experience with a Siemens scanning platform is an advantage but not essential.
This role is open to anyone with an acceptable undergraduate degree to meet the requirements for the post graduate MRI program with the University of Auckland .
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
