Te Au Reka - Improving access to justice for all New Zealanders
Te Au Reka represents the opportunity of a lifetime, making a profound difference to those who work in, and interact with, courts and tribunals. This new digital case management system will help modernise the administration of justice in Aotearoa New Zealand. It will replace highly manual, time-consuming, paper-based processes, transforming the way people access and experience justice in New Zealand.
Te Au Reka is a large, complex and unique programme, spanning courts and tribunals nationwide. In delivering Te Au Reka we're challenging traditional norms in search of more innovative ways of working. We explore, learn and adapt to overcome hurdles and take advantage of opportunities. We are a high functioning and collaborative team working in a fast-paced environment, motivated by the significance of this work and supporting each other to get it done. Te Au Reka is a game-changer and we care deeply about making it a success.
This is where you come in. We'll be implementing Te Au Reka over the next few years and are looking for people to be part of our team.

Te Haeata/The Opportunity
The Technical Product Manager role sits within the Digital and Information - Delivery team for Te Au Reka.
The Delivery team is responsible for providing support for the initial design and development of the Te Au Reka service, and then for ongoing operational management and support once the service is rolled out. The Delivery team will be a cross-functional team to ensure the ongoing Digital Service of Te Au Reka meets required business outcomes, delivers value and is able to be sustainably supported.
The Technical Product Manager role is responsible for the overall success of Te Au Reka support and ongoing continuous improvement. You will work directly with Business Stakeholders, our Digital teams, and our vendor to oversee the prioritisation and implementation of functionality. This role also includes management of a team of direct reports including a Support Analyst and Support Engineers.
You will enjoy working in transformational programmes of work, be experienced in managing ambiguity and value diversity of thought while respecting culture and traditions. You will contribute to creating an inclusive work environment where differences are acknowledged and respected, contributing to a strong team that delivers in a positive environment. If you thrive on delivering business outcomes and ensuring customer-centric service design is applied to everything you do, we want to hear from you!

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role, you will ideally have:
Senior application engineering experience in large and complex organisations, including:
  • Technical leadership of application development and continuous improvement in product development teams,
  • Designing application solutions in an Agile manner within the bounds of solution architecture.
  • Managing release using project or release management tools such as Azure Dev Ops, alongside experience with solutions based on serverless architecture e.g., Microsoft Azure.
