Job Description
In this multi-functional role, you will be a key senior member of our Transmission & Distribution team dedicated to leading and engaging with our clients to deliver technically challenging multi-disciplinary projects.

This is a new specialist director level secondary design role in combination with integrated project management and delivery to support the growth of our NZ energy practice.
What will a day in this role look like?
  • Checking and approving secondary design and protection settings
  • Reviewing and providing input into bids and pursuits; actively participating in business and strategic planning activities to identify opportunities to continue the growth of the business in the short, medium and longer-term.
  • Leading the delivery of projects and the development of leading-edge technical skills and their practical application, in ways that add value to AECOM and our clients.
  • Mentoring team members in their development, facilitating opportunities that build competency, and assisting with professional accreditation where appropriate.
  • Undertaking design management roles in multidisciplinary projects; ensuring integrated design through effective communication and coordination with other disciplines.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Degree qualified in electrical or power systems engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 15 years’ HV substation design experience including IEC61850 configuration
  • Protection settings experience is highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex, multi-discipline projects and meeting delivery requirements
  • Proven client relationship management and business development skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
