Te āheinga: The opportunity Unitec is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Learning and Achievement Team Leader to manage a team of specialist academics. This role is pivotal in providing effective learning support services to our students, ensuring their academic development and successful progression through to completion of study. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of specialist academics to deliver high-quality learning support services.
Ensure proactive and effective delivery of learning support to enhance students' academic development.
Collaborate with other Student Success teams and key team leaders and managers across the institute.
Uphold and promote Unitec Te Noho Kotahitanga values and principles in all aspects of the role.
He kōrero mōu: About you You are a dedicated and experienced professional with a strong background in learning literacies and academic management within a tertiary institution. You hold a master's degree in a relevant subject area or an equivalent or higher qualification. With a minimum of five years of successful experience in this field, you bring extensive knowledge of current issues related to the development of learning and teaching. You are committed to fostering diverse, inclusive, and equitable environments and have actively engaged in building such workplaces. Your understanding or desire to learn Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of Kaupapa Māori is essential to this role. Your leadership skills are well-honed, with proven experience in managing people and delivering high-quality workshops and presentations. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with exceptional student service abilities. Your computer and database literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office Applications and Adobe Suite, is strong. A sense of humour is a must, as is your ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Desirable:
Active research abilities with a passion for contributing to Unitec's industry and community-driven research.
Good understanding of e Learning platforms such as Moodle, My Portfolio, Collaborate, Turnitin, Libguides, and AI tools.
Familiarity with People Soft.
