The team at Silver Fern Farms Waitane are offering a variety of opportunities for students to work during the holidays (or permanently if you want!) This will allow us to cover our busy holiday period.
Ideally, we would love to hire people who would like to progress to a career within our industry when they finish their studies either in meat processing/leadership roles/quality control or auditing (and so much more!)
We've got work for you for the duration of our season. We just need you to be reliable and not afraid of hard work.

Silver Fern Farms is working hard to maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace so saliva drug screening before you’re employed is mandatory.

What’s on offer:
- Full time positions are available from estimated mid to late November.
- Complete on-job training and earn a minimum $28.12 p/h plus extras.
- Hours of work generally fall between 6:00am and 4:00pm depending on department. Weekend work will be required from time to time.
- Packers, General Labourers, Cold Chain/Distribution
- No experience? No problem, we will provide the training you need
- Different career paths for those who want to build on their current skills/experience in a longer-term journey with us
- All work clothing and protective equipment provided
