Asset Construction are seeking expressions of interest for Steel Fixer as an integral part of our Northland crew. We are an innovative and well-established civils company with busy crews in both the Auckland and Northland regions. With loads of work on the go, and lots more confirmed in the pipeline, we are looking for the right fit for our team and our company culture to help us continue to achieve our goals - quality work, done efficiently, delivered constantly. Your responsibilities includes:
Complete general steel fixing and construction related tasks as part of a team including but not limited to measuring, cutting, bending, positioning and securing steel reinforcing bars and mesh in structures to provide strength and stability, use hand and power tools;
Read and interpret engineering and building plans;
Connect rebar with wire, clips or welds;
Form retaining walls and gabion baskets, concrete form work and minor structural work etc.;
Complete accurate daily timesheets showing cost codes for each task undertaken;
Ensure all worksites are left in a clean and tidy condition as per contract specifications/management instruction;
Ensure all tools and equipment are tidy, cared for & secure at the end of the day; Dogman capabilities.
The ideal applicant needs to:
Have at least 1 year work experience in steel fixing or relevant occupation, or relevant qualification equivalent to NZQA Level 2 or 3
Have a firm understanding of the health and safety requirements that need to be upheld on site and be able to ensure they are adhered to.
Be able to interpret and comprehend plans to ensure accurate builds and be able to collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently.

Pay conditions: Minimum $29.66 to Maximum $35 per hour depending on experience and skills Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week is guaranteed.
