As part of the Parks & Community Facilities Department, you’ll be working with a diverse team of subject matter experts who are passionate about delivering a positive difference for the Rodney local community and future generations. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council parks and facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes.


Reporting to the Area Operations Manager for Rodney, as the Senior Asset Information Lead, you’ll lead and deliver the end-to-end asset information management process, including the development and implementation of an asset data collection plan within the local board area team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and auditing of data from all sources and stakeholders. Your role will also involve mapping the risk profile of assets, capturing and recording asset attributes, condition ratings, and leading the use of GIS tools to provide an integrated, information-enabled view of asset management in the development and maintenance of facility management plans.


You’ll be spending time on-site across parks and community facilities in your area to ensure asset data is timely, accurate, and reliable within your Local Board Area. This includes validating existing information held in SAP, GIS, and other databases, as well as information received during the asset acquisition process or vesting of assets. You’ll also be responsible for cleansing newly collected asset data before inputting it into GIS and SAP, ensuring accurate categorization, codification, and classification as provided by stakeholders.

Asset management or facilities management experience would be beneficial, including data collection and mapping, as would the previous use of GIS and SAP, and the ability to manipulate large data sets.


As someone who is highly organised you plan and prioritise with ease to manage your time effectively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You’ll be able to undertake on-site field asset surveys and assessments, and experience in or knowledge of the parks/recreation/community sector is preferred.
