At Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Monitoring Analytics team is the ‘engine room' of the Ministry's Regulation and Monitoring directorate. The team combines data extraction and analysis from a range of databases and sources, with monitoring insights around the health system's performance. We are intricately involved in issue identification, escalation and advising Ministers on risks within the system. We develop and facilitate a range of monitoring processes including reporting against the Government Policy Statement, Health's Strategic Monitoring framework, and quarterly monitoring cycles.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
You will work alongside the Principal Analyst to drive a comprehensive programme of analysis, reporting, and monitoring focused on government priorities, system flow, and performance improvement within the health sector.
You will extract and analyse data from the National Collections using analytical tools like R, and Power BI, transforming complex information into actionable insights. By presenting data in meaningful ways, you'll help stakeholders understand the causes, impacts, and consequences for the health system and its users. You will extract, visualise and interpret data, foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and lead the development of processes and tools to enhance both the team's capacity and wider Ministry's monitoring capability.
