Mō te tūnga | About the role Senior Advisor: The role supports the Manager Governance to deliver the Oranga Tamariki governance work programme, which includes supporting Grievance Panels, and advising on, managing, and supporting governance processes to enable the effective and efficient operation of the organisation. The role includes providing operational support to Oranga Tamariki's governance committees, and boards, advising internally appointments, identifying adjustments and improvements to the governance system and process, and making connections between governance committees and the Leadership Team to ensure the governance system is effective. Some key requirements of the role include:
A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is essential
Demonstrated experience in developing, leading and providing advice on governance processes and appointments
Experience providing secretariat services and advice at a senior level
Provision of advice and activity to carry out appointments to boards or committees internally and to Ministers
Knowledge of government processes relating to governance and appointments
Advisor: The role supports the Manager Governance to provide advice to the Chief Executive and the Oranga Tamariki Leadership Team on governance and to manage and support governance processes to enable the effective and efficient operation of Oranga Tamariki. Some key requirements of the role include:
A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is essential. The qualification may come from a number of different fields of study, including social work or other human sciences
Experience providing secretariat services and advice to committees, boards, project teams and other similar groups
Knowledge of government processes relating to governance and appointments
Analytical skills with the ability to make sounds and respected decisions
