Buller District Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Roading and Transport Team Leader looking for a new challenge within our Infrastructure Services team.
What will you do?
Provide leadership and management for the Roading and Transport team, enabling a positive team environment and fostering a culture of high performance
Monitor contractor performance, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders
Provide technical advice on roading and transport issues and ensuring roading services are delivered in an effective manner
Provide specialist roading and transport expertise and input to the development, communication and implementation of strategic and long-term plans
Manage internal and external budgets, taking responsibility for effective tracking and basic reporting against annual plans
Ensure staff and contractors are adhering to Health and Safety legislation and site requirements, as well as BDC Health and Safety Policies and procedures.
About you:
You will hold a professional engineering qualification – in Civil Engineering or a related field and have at least two years post-qualification experience
Have a sound understanding of contract management/ project management principles
Hold a current STMS qualification
Have proven leadership experience with the ability to maintain and develop key relationships with internal and external parties and stakeholders
Experience in a local government environment
Have strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel and RAMM with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to other applications and systems
