Are you wanting to gain experience supporting patients and their whanau in planning for elective surgery procedures?
We have an opportunity for a proficient/expert RN/ Enrolled Nurse to work within the pre hospital preparedness team to support patients and family prepare for their surgery/ procedure. The team supports a range of surgical procedures. This role includes phone assessments with patients and whanau which includes communicating with the wider health care team to ensure the patient is prepared and ready for their procedure.
This role is focused on equity and access across our communities
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Communicating with patients and families to ensure they are ready and prepared for their planned procedure.
- Liaising with the wider health care team anaesthetic assessments, senior nurses planned care medical staff booking clerks to support timely access to procedure.

Mōu | About you
- Registered or Enrolled Nurse with minimum 2 years’ experience within a surgical speciality
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A current annual practicing certificate
- Competed a Professional Development and Recognition Programme at proficient and/or above
- A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability, flexibility and agility.
