Location: Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital
Service/Department: Intensive Care Unit
Contract: Permanent, full-time

About the role:
ICU are looking for a registered Nurse who will have previous and recent experience managing critically ill patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting. The suitable applicant will have at least 5 years working in an acute intensive care unit, managing patients requiring invasive mechanical ventilation, invasive and non-invasive monitoring, and vaso-active medications and infusions. A preference will be given to those who have both adult and paediatric ICU experience, CRRT experience and Flight nursing experience. A Proficient Nursing Portfolio and relevant Post-graduate ICU qualifications are also preferred.

About our team:
Our unit is a combined Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit, with 13 resourced beds. We are a Level 2 ICU, taking adult and paediatric patients from a range of medical and surgical specialties, including trauma. We have a diverse team of nurses, doctors and allied health staff, and we offer a wide range of in-house education and support to help staff reach their potential.

Skills and experience:
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years recent experience in an acute ICU setting, and will possess highly developed critical thinking skills, and be able to manage a busy workload and prioritise their work appropriately. Experience with mechanically ventilated patients is essential as well as competence with invasive and non-invasive monitoring.
