Mō te tūnga | About the role
Wāhi Tautoko is a 10-bedded service located in Building 8. We aim to support consumers that require extended assessment or treatment following an admission to the acute inpatient service prior to discharge.
This may include:
tāngata whaiora who are presenting to services for the first time that may require extended assessment and support around management of their symptoms.
tāngata whaiora that have an identified discharge pathway on admission – i.e. home or supported accommodation – but may require some additional assessment and upskilling to safely and successfully transition into the community.
tāngata whaiora who may have limited social supports and require support to increase their engagement in their local communities.
The goals of the service include:
Provision of a safe and supportive environment to provide extended assessment, treatment and rehabilitation following an admission to the adult acute service
Teaching skills to help support illness management and to support consumers to live the life they want to live
Support development of structure and meaningful routines
Support safe discharge into a community setting
Pehea | About You We will be looking for experienced Registered and Enrolled Nurse, with mental health scope, who are passionate about providing consumer centred care.
Full time and part time opportunities available
Rotating roster of 4 days on, 2 days off for full time
Work autonomously and as part of a cohesive multi-disciplinary team

In order to be successful in this role, the following is required:
Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope
Previous experience working within any area of mental health
Self-motivated, flexible and solutions-focused
Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
