Te tūranga - The role and your impact
The Principal Adviser - Co FR supports the Council of Financial Regulators to fulfil its purpose and objectives. This is a senior leadership position that plays a pivotal role providing coordination, strategic direction, and engagement across the financial regulatory system.In this role, no two days will be the same. Your key responsibilities will be leading the development and delivery of a long-term strategic plan that supports Co FR's key strategies and outcomes; engaging and collaborating extensively across agencies on system-wide risks and issues to inform, progress, and deliver on Co FR's priority areas and forward agenda.

We're looking for someone who is a self-starter and can work in a low context environment. You'll also be the kind of person who thrives on balancing differing perspectives and communicating with stakeholders of all levels.If you have:
Extensive experience and proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships and relate effectively with multiple stakeholders, senior leaders, and governance forums
Experience working for in regulation/financial regulation
Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
The ability to effectively manage and influence a diverse work programme, deliver large and complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and implement strategies to achieve required outcomes

The Council of Financial Regulators (Co FR) - Kaunihera Kaiwhakarite Ahumoni - contributes to maximising New Zealand's sustainable, economic wellbeing through effective and responsive regulation of the financial system in New Zealand. This role is jointly engaged by the co-chairs of Co FR - RBNZ and FMA, and has dual reporting lines to both organisations.
