We have a fixed-term opportunity available for an Oral Health Therapist to work as part of our professional and supportive Community Oral Health Service covering the Southern region which is bordered in the north by the Waitaki river and as far south as Bluff and from the east coast across to Queenstown in the west. 0.4FTE of this role is based in our clinic in Balclutha. Mō te tūranga - About the role You will be responsible for maintaining the oral health of children in our region, educating children and their families on oral health and the prevention of dental disease. You will recognise, diagnose and treat oral abnormalities and disease within your scope of practice. You will work alongside a Dental Assistant as part of a supportive and friendly team who is committed to delivering quality health services for our tamariki. Mōu ake - About you We are looking for an enthusiastic team-player, keen to grow their knowledge and skills with a proactive approach towards learning. Excellent communication, natural empathy for children and great interpersonal skills are essential. You will need to have the flexibility to be able to cover occasional rostered afternoon shifts. You will also need to be able to work in other clinics throughout the region; on occasion, this may see you staying away overnight. Our ideal candidate will have the following:
Registration or be able to gain registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand as an Oral Health Therapist/Dental Therapist
A current APC or the ability to apply for one
A full clean NZ driver's licence
