About the Role As the Optimisation & Quality Analyst you will report to the Operations Manager and work alongside other key roles within Lumber’s Operations and Engineering teams. Your role plays a key part in ensuring the continuation of production by remaining compliant with our Phytosanitary obligations which is crucial to the quality of our product. Alongside this you will continually identify, analyse, recommend and implement product and production optimisation opportunities, primarily within the sawmill. Some of your other responsibilities are:
to become proficient in the Optimisation systems that help turn logs into lumber, and then identify areas to improve recovery and productivity
provide back-up coverage for the Sawmill Scheduler, this involves learning cut plans, scheduling & planning
retrieve and analyse statistical data as requested, from our “Ignition” information system
co-ordinate and maintain the phytosanitary system according to standards required by MPI, including carrying out audits
acting as the champion for Pan Pac’s environmental and sustainability goals within the Lumber division and undertake environmental monitoring as required
assist with certain quality claims in conjunction with Marketing, Operations, Suppliers and Customers
minimise the production of out of specification product through regular monitoring
advocate on behalf of Pan Pac Lumber to industry bodies and Government Departments where appropriate
support the Lumber Management Accountant with FSC systems
This is a day position 8.00 – 16.30 Monday – Friday. This role is based at our Whirinaki site located 15 mins north of Napier. We offer
