The Mental Health and Addiction Regulation team is involved in administering and monitoring mental health and addiction related legislation (including drug checking regulation) and intellectual disability compulsory care and rehabilitation.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
As Manager you will be leading the Mental Health and Addiction Regulation team and be responsible for ensuring the team works through the necessary changes to reflect upcoming amendments to mental health legislation and adjust work priorities accordingly.
As well as supporting your team, you will be supporting the Director and Deputy Director of Mental Health and Addiction to fulfil regulatory responsibilities.

Strong understanding of the operational context of the mental health and addiction-related regulatory landscape
Understanding of changing requirements necessary to reflect new mental health legislation and work required to administer relevant legislation, including regulation of drug checking services
Experience at implementing complex change as a leader within a regulatory environment
Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
Your lived experience of mental health and/or addiction is highly regarded
