Kitchenhand and Dishwasher: This is a full-time permanent position, working 30-40 hours per week on roster (minimum 30 hours guarantee). Minimum wage is $26.50ph and maximum 32 ph. We open seven days a week to late. Candidate may need to work on nights, weekends and public holidays. Applicant must mention if you are a New Zealand Citizen or resident and you will be getting extra credit. Job Duties:
Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
Cleaning kitchens, food preparation areas and sculleries
Clean all kitchen surfaces, including the floors and equipment
Remove garbage regularly
Sanitize the kitchen area cleaning cooking and general utensils used in kitchens and restaurants transferring, weighing and checking supplies and equipment
Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary
Assembling and preparing ingredients for cooking packing food and beverage trays for serving Toasting and heating simple food items
Any other duty that may be assigned by the duty manager or chef or cook.
Assist kitchen and service staff in preparing and serving food, and clean food preparation and service areas.
Knowledge in Indian Foods is preferable
Health and safety knowledge
Skills and knowledge This is an authentic Indian cuisine and candidate should have knowledge of that. There is no requirement of work experience or qualification; we provide basic training when you start the job. You should have positive attitude and be able to work under pressure since our restaurant is extremely busy. You should also have good interpersonal skills in order to coordinate duties in the kitchen.
