Mō tēnei mahi (About this job) We are looking for a Kaiako to deliver the Hei Tikitiki / Hei Toki programme. This permanent, full-time role starts in January 2025. This role includes, but is not limited to, developing lesson plans, delivering content to tauira (students), addressing their learning needs, and assessing their progress. Flexibility for occasional weekend and evening work may be required. Mōu (About you) The ideal Kaiako will possess a strong understanding of adolescent brain development and youth development approaches, with a proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for rangatahi. The ability to communicate effectively, engage with a diverse range of rangatahi, and facilitate their success is essential. You will bring with you:
Diploma (L5) in Youth Work or related field
New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or a willingness to complete it within the first year of employment
National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education Level 5 (NCALNE L5)
Full and current NZ Driver Licence
Clean Police Record
4+ years in social service, youth work, or similar role
4+ years working with Māori & Pasifika communities
4+ years in community engagement.
4+ years participation in youth initiatives or projects
Adult teaching experience
