Healthcare Support Worker

The Role
You'll put your practical skills and compassion into supporting residents with everyday activities such as personal care, assistance at mealtimes, and general care duties that make for happier, healthier living at an Enliven home. You will work hard, but there are few jobs that will give you the immense satisfaction of working for people who are grateful for your help and who contribute to an enriching working environment.
Hours: Fixed-term cover for parental leave from 13 October 2024 to 13 May 2025. Days of work and hours will be as rostered 4 on 2 off, Day 1 and 2: 1700 - 2100hrs and Day 3 and 4: 1630 - 2200hrs.
About You
The ideal applicant will:
- Be empathetic, compassionate, and patient
- Work well in a team
- Enjoy working alongside older people
- Be physically fit and strong
- Have enthusiasm and a sense of humour
- Experience in an aged care environment is preferred
- Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent will be an added advantage

About Us
Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is a Charitable Trust established in 1906. Our Mission is to walk with people across the generations to create together places to live, learn, and thrive. We call out injustice and advocate for positive change. PSO operates a highly regarded network of 8 care homes across Otago and provides many other community-based social support programmes.
Our services for older people are provided by Enliven. We create elder-centered communities where older people have companionship, meaningful activity, purpose, and fun in their lives.
An integral part of the North Dunedin community, Ross Home supports up to 124 residents living at rest home level care.
