About the job

Hourly rate: $23.15–$24.50 (dependent on skill and experience)
Location: On-site in Whangaparaoa (Stanmore Bay)
Contract: Fixed term for 4 months (29/10 – 08/02)
Hours: 20 hours per week—Monday, Thursday (10:00–14:00), Friday (08:00–15:30), Sunday (09:00–14:30)

About the role
Our café, located within Mitre 10 Whangaparaoa, is a popular meeting spot for the local community. This full-function front-of-house role includes:

Monitoring the barista/coffee counter for service supplies (cups, plates, cutlery, etc.) to maintain quick service times.
Preparing and presenting counter food and beverages.
Processing orders and responding to customer requests.
Maintaining high standards of food and general hygiene.
Supporting the kitchen team as needed.

What will you bring?

Previous barista skills preferred (hourly rate reflects experience and skill).
Experience in a fast-paced café environment, able to work well under pressure.
Passion and knowledge about food and beverages.
Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Excellent communication skills, working effectively in a small team.
Flexibility to work during peak periods, including weekends and public holidays.
