As an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Gisborne, you will be supported by two year one post graduate Doctors and two Registrars. The team are based on a ring-fenced ward for arthroplasty, shared with the rehabilitation team offering a highly valued service to the community. The on-call roster is provided by five Consultants with excellent support from the Orthopaedic community around New Zealand. The department provides general, acute and elective care with current sub-specialty interests including Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, Paediatrics and Sports Surgery. We are looking for a colleague to join the team with a sub specialist interest that would compliment and help build the department and services offered. Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the New Zealand Medical Council of New Zealand or eligible for registration with the Medical Council to enable you to practice medicine within New Zealand.
Demonstrated clinical expertise in management of a variety of orthopaedic conditions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop partnerships and work collaboratively within a team
