Community Support Worker (Mental Health)
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity Operating within the Auckland metropolitan area, Lotofale aims to provide a culturally specific quality Mental Health service to adult Pacific consumers and their families. The team consists of clinicians and cultural community support workers who work collaboratively with other Te Toka Tumai Auckland mental health services, as well as local community-based health and social services. Our clients depend upon the support and guidance of skilled professionals to assist them in maintaining and developing a wide range of skills to strengthen their process of recovery. Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills The Cultural Community Support Worker role requires integrity, flexibility, knowledge of recovery principles and community resources and a genuine interest in the co-ordination and/or facilitation of group-oriented programs and activities. It also requires someone who practices cultural awareness and safety, with a good understanding of our Pacific people and their needs. It would be beneficial to be able to speak a Pacific language and to have some knowledge about the Pacific models of care. You will have a relevant certificate or diploma qualification in Mental Health and some cultural qualifications, with a strong commitment to teamwork, best practice and the empowerment of mental health consumers.
