Clinical Leader (Acute Mental Health Inpatient After Hours)

Service: Acute Mental Health Inpatient after Hours, District and Hospital Services
Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.5FTE / 20 hours per week)
Salary: $138,000 - $160,000 pro rata

Are you ready to make a difference for our local district specialist mental health and addiction services?
Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) is undertaking a change in the way we deliver mental health and addiction services across the district. We are looking for people who are innovative and passionate about leading people and have a strong grounding in mental health and addiction services in a New Zealand context. As part of this change, we are looking for a Clinical Leader for the Acute Mental Health Inpatient After Hours, District and Hospital Service. The ideal candidate/s will be comfortable working in a changing environment, believes in integrated care, and can demonstrate experience in working closely with tāngata whaiora and whānau to deliver person-directed specialised mental health and addiction services.

This position is responsible for the operational management of acute inpatient mental health hospital and clinical hospital based services across the Local Adult Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Service. These services include:
  • Te Whare o Matairangi
  • Te Whare Ahuru
  • Health of Older Persons (Te Whare Ra Uta)
  • Consultation Liaison (Capital and Coast and Hutt Valley)
The Clinical Leader, Acute Mental Health Inpatient After Hours, District and Hospital Services, in partnership with the Operations Manager, is responsible for calmly and astutely leading their teams while maintaining day-to-day service operations. This includes championing the organisations vision, values and model of care and developing a committed and passionate team. - -
Moū - About you
You will have:
  • Relevant tertiary level qualification or equivalent in health leadership
  • A clinical qualification
  • Professional registration and current APC
  • Able to use clinical expertise to support and lead others
  • Committed to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori whānau
  • held a senior role of this nature in the health sector, preferably in the mental health and addiction sector
  • Extensive knowledge and perspective of Mental Health, Addiction and/or Intellectual Disability service delivery
  • Successful experience in leading staff during times of change and change management
