We are looking for 2 full-time Checkout Operator and Shop Assistantswho enjoy working with the public and have a friendly, outgoing personality. As a team-oriented company, we seek two individuals who can be flexible with work hours. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and displays a positive attitude when interacting with customers and employees.

Full Time Permanent Position with minimum 30 hours weekly.
Pay rate: $29.66 an hour
Objective of the role:

Perform basic maths functions to collect payments and make change

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Scanning goods and ensuring pricing is accurate
Operate registers, scanners, scales and POS terminals
Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
Redeem stamps and coupons
Memorise product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions
Help to maximize sales through effective and proper procedures for stocking, rotating, and merchandising product, both on the sales floor and in the back rooms and coolers/freezer
Handle exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner
Delivering outstanding customer service to all customers by listening and responding to customer queries in a confident and professional manner
Assists Duty Manager with Stock taking, ordering, and inventory management
Reporting customer complaints to Duty Manager
Ensuring that trolleys and carrier bags are clean and placed in the right places
Maintain accurate cash drawer
Take a tally of the funds in the cash register when required during a shift and produce transaction reports
Cross-selling products and introducing new/similar products in the store
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and signs
Handling merchandise returns and exchanges
Keep the checkout area clean and orderly

Skills and Qualifications

Basic PC knowledge & Mathematical skills and the ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately
Either 6 months of experience or relevant qualification is preferred.
Positive, helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately
Ability to process coupons, refunds, gift cards and checks
Capable of lifting up to 20 kg, bending, twisting and standing for long periods of time
Knowledge of register operation, including cash and credit cards
